Peace in the Waiting

Have you ever been waiting for something important, maybe an opportunity, a result, or some news, and it felt like time had stopped? Every notification, every sound from your phone makes your heart skip a beat. You rush to check it, only to feel disappointment when it’s not what you were hoping for.

For some, waiting may seem like a minor aspect of life. But for me, it feels like so much more. Every pause, every moment of uncertainty, carries hope, expectation, and sometimes even fear. I imagine how things could change, how this outcome could affect my daily life, my family, or my sense of purpose. And when the silence stretches on, it can feel heavy.

During these times, I’ve found comfort in turning to Allah. Whispering Astaghfirullah, making sincere dua, and reflecting on the words of Prophet Musa (peace be upon him):

“Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khairin faqeer.”
My Lord, truly I am in need of whatever good You would send down to me. (Qur’an 28:24)

These simple acts remind me that the outcome doesn’t define me, Allah is my Provider, and His plan is perfect. Life will keep moving, no matter the result, and so can my peace of mind.

One thing that has helped me tremendously is journaling. Writing down my thoughts, fears, hopes, and duas has been a way to process the waiting, find clarity, and draw closer to Allah.

If you’re waiting for something too, I encourage you to try it. Even a few lines a day can turn restless energy into calm reflection. For a guided way to do this, check out my Dua Journal on The Boarding Nest. It’s designed to help you process life’s uncertainties, record your heartfelt duas, and find peace in your daily connection with Allah.

So here I am still waiting. The result hasn’t come yet, but my heart feels lighter. Because of this waiting, I’ve found something more valuable than the outcome: patience, trust, and the quiet peace of leaning on Allah and reflecting in my journal.

✨Waiting is temporary, but the calm, reflection, and closeness to Allah you build during these moments can last forever.
